Does the slab really need grinding before large-format tile?
If it is out of flat, yes. Large-format tile cannot follow a dip the way a small tile can — you get lipping at the edges and hollow spots underneath. Grinding or levelling the slab first is the difference between a floor that looks flat and one that catches the light wrong forever. On the lowset brick homes around Everton Park it comes up often.
Can you tile a patio or alfresco area to match the inside floor?
