Regrouting and silicone in Brisbane
The maintenance half of the name, and real work rather than an afterthought. Failed, mouldy or split silicone cut out and replaced, movement joints run where they belong, and grout sealed so it stays the colour it started.
Black silicone is not a cleaning problem
Once mould is growing inside a silicone joint, no amount of scrubbing brings it back — the growth is in the body of the bead, not on the surface. The only real fix is to cut the old bead out completely, clean and dry the joint, and run a new one.
Done properly that means the joint is cut back to a clean edge on both faces, not smeared over the top of the old one. A new bead run over an old bead lifts within months and traps water behind it.
Grout that is failing, not just dirty
Grout that is powdering, cracking along the wall-to-floor junction or missing in patches is telling you something is moving. Regrouting fixes the appearance; putting a flexible joint where the movement actually is stops it happening again. Corners, wall-to-floor junctions and changes of plane want silicone, not grout — that is what a movement joint is for.
It buys a wet area years
A regrout and re-silicone is a fraction of the cost of a bathroom rebuild, and on a room that is otherwise sound it can add years to it. It is also the honest answer for a lot of the bathrooms we get called to look at — plenty of them do not need replacing, they need maintaining.

Questions
Regrouting, silicone and sealing — questions.
Can you fix the silicone without redoing the bathroom?
Yes — that is exactly the sort of job this service exists for. Cutting out failed or mouldy silicone, replacing movement joints, regrouting and sealing are jobs we do on their own, and on a sound room they buy it years.
Why does my silicone keep going black?
Usually because the joint is staying wet — poor ventilation, water sitting in a badly falling floor, or a screen that drains onto the bead. Replacing the silicone fixes the symptom; we will tell you if we can see the cause, because otherwise it comes back.
Can you match the existing grout colour?
In most cases yes, close enough that a repair does not read as a patch. Old grout does fade and stain over time, so on a badly discoloured room a full regrout in one colour often looks better than matching to something that has already shifted.
How long does a regrout take?
A single bathroom is usually a day or two depending on how much has to come out and whether it needs sealing afterwards. Re-siliconing on its own is often the same day.
