Our 90s bathroom is leaking. Does it all have to come out?
Usually, yes. Bathrooms from that era were often waterproofed to a standard well below the current one, and once water is getting out, the membrane has already failed somewhere you cannot see. Patching the visible bit buys months. A strip-out and rebuild is the fix, and it is a large part of what we do around Enoggera.
Can you regrout and re-silicone rather than retile?
Yes, and sometimes that genuinely is the right call — if the tiles are sound and the membrane is intact, renewing the grout and the movement joints will get you years. What it will not do is fix a leak. We will say which situation you are in rather than sell you the smaller job and have you call back.
Can you tile a whole floor through a post-war home in large format?
Yes, and it lifts these houses more than almost anything else. The catch in post-war stock is the slab or the floor structure underneath — large-format tile needs a flat plane, and old floors rarely are. Grinding or levelling first is not an upsell, it is the reason the floor does not lip or drum later.
