Our balcony leaks into the room below. Can that be fixed properly?

Yes, but not with a coating over the top of the existing tile. A balcony over a habitable room has to come up — tile off, old membrane out, falls re-formed to the drain, new membrane, then re-tile. It is the most common call we get in Chermside townhouses and units, and it is the one job where a shortcut always comes back.

Do you work with body corporates and property managers?

Regularly. A lot of the Chermside work is apartment and townhouse stock, which means scopes, access arrangements and sometimes approval before we start. We are happy to quote to a body corporate scope and work to their access windows.

Can you renovate a post-war bathroom without replacing the whole floor?

Sometimes, but be careful what you are being promised. In a post-war home the original wet area often has no membrane at all, just screed and tile. If the floor is coming up anyway, doing it properly costs less than doing it twice. We will tell you honestly which of the two you are looking at once we have seen it.
